Part 1: Favorite Series

I am a series buff (I think), I usually spent my Friday nights and Saturday mornings by watching my favorite movies or series. Checklist for me to like a series are; a good script, a creative love story ( cos I am hopeless romantic), pogi guys, a mind-boggling problem of the primary character/s, hacking and more hacking (I wanted to be an IT genius). So a hundred hours spent watching series/ me trying to forget the world, Below are my fave American Series of all time.

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER  –    The story is about Ted Mosby and his friends, Marshall, Lily, Barney, and Robin. As a framing device, Ted, in the year 2030, recounts to his son and daughter the events that led him to meet their mother.  In the first few episodes of HIMYM,

I have already bid for Ted and Robin that’s why the ending didn’t disappoint me at all, I was thrilled when they got together in the end. But I also liked Ted’s journey into finding “the mother” of his children, you know I am a hopeless romantic kind of girl, and somehow I have been a Ted Mosby once in my life. I have been looking for the right person to come, and I am on the journey of becoming the right person for my Mr. Right. I also love all the characters and how they developed all throughout the ten seasons of the series. The series made me feel all the different kinds of emotions, from heart-wrenching scenes, hilarious moments, kilig proposals of Barney to Robin and above all, I also look forward to the quotes and words of wisdom in the show.

“The great moments of your life won’t necessarily be the things you do, they’ll also be the things that happen to you. Now, I’m not saying you can’t take action to affect the outcome of your life, you have to take action, and you will. But never forget that on any day, you can step out the front door and your whole life can change forever. You see, the universe has a plan, kids, and that plan is always in motion. A butterfly flaps its wings, and it starts to rain. It’s a scary thought, but it’s also kind of wonderful. All these little parts of the machine constantly working, making sure that you end up exactly where you’re supposed to be, exactly when you’re supposed to be
there. The right place at the right time.” – Ted Mosby

ORPHAN BLACK –is a Canadian science-fiction thriller television series starring Tatiana Maslany as several identical people who are clones. (wiki) The story is somewhat dark but what amazed me is the main character, Tatiana plays like 10 or more characters, and she is a genuinely fantastic actress having to portray all the roles correctly. This sci-fi series got me hooked on the story which is touching, heartbreaking, funny, action-packed adventures of Sarah and her clones.

“Defy them. Live your life with every ounce of passion that I know that you have. They will never own you.”
– Delphine to Cosima

GAME OF THRONES – Sino ang hindi alam ang GOT? ( GED) is an American fantasy drama television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of A Song of Ice and FireGeorge R. R. Martin‘s series of fantasy novels, the first of which is A Game of Thrones.  (wiki)

The first season was a sore for me, first because it has a lot of primary characters that you need to memorize or else hindi mo sya magegets. I was tempted not to finish it, but then by the constant pangungulit and update of a friend, I finished season 1 and surprisingly got addicted to it until season 7. Well, what got me hooked are the following characters: Jon Snow, Jon Snow, Jon Snow, Arya Stark and Daenerys Targaryen. I am into women empowerment but I just really love Jon Snow’s a**. Oops! Haha. Ang gwapo nya kaya mga besh! And I also like the story that not only focuses on one central character but multiple main characters. I too love the fact that Game of Thrones was inspired by my all-time favorite Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. ( I know this doesn’t do justice to how amazing the show is, pero it’s fantastic!)

ARROW – one of the first series that I religiously watched. I fell in love with Oliver and all the other casts. I also liked that every season there’s a theme or the events per episode leads to the main event which is the last episode per season. I got bored after season 4  ( I don’t know why), but it’s still one of my favorite. PS. ANG GWAPO NI OLIVER!

One of my favorite thing about Arrow aside from Oliver and his abs is the OLICITY  LOVE TEAM (Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoke) I just love how their friendship grows during the seasons. In Oliver’s world of lies and deception, Felicity is his only clarity. Every superhero needs someone to help them be the hero they are supposed to be, and for Oliver it’s Felicity. Felicity believes in him no matter what, she believes in the goodness of his heart.  She’s someone who unconditionally loves and supports Oliver in everything he does. You see, they are a perfect love story.

And also, aside from the fact that I can relate to their relationship, na mas pinili ang maging magkaibigan just to be there for each other (so me and ADA. hahaha) Sobrang kinikilig ako everytime they are together. They are also a great team, with them together everything is possible. And, oh! Felicity is one my favorite computer expert and hacker of all! 🙂

SCORPION – is an American action drama television series loosely based on the life of computer expert,[2] Walter O’Brien. In the series, O’Brien and his friends help each other to solve complex global problems and save lives. (wiki)

I love the genius stuff, and I love hacking, so it’s great to watch the series. One of the common denominators of all my ex’s are they are all computer experts ( graphic, multimedia, programming, hacking, games, etc.) But wala yang kinalaman dito gusto ko lang ishare hehe. Or maybe I am drawn to people who loves computer ( and kung ano man ang kaya netong gawin). Anyway,  I enjoy watching them, Water and Paige’s love story is complicated in the first three seasons, but in Season 4 they finally end up together. It was just sad that they had to go all through all of those drama and confused feelings before they finally admitted to themselves and each other how they fell. I love all the characters especially Ralph, the little genius who helps the team solved some of their missions.

Girl Boss – The show is based on Sophia Amoruso‘s autobiography #Girlbosswhich tells the story of how Amoruso started the company, Nasty Gal while working as a campus safety host for San Francisco’s Academy of Art University.

I love how empowering this series is. It showed me to be resilient, creative and bold no matter what happens with your life. It taught me that I can do whatever I want and that I can achieve my dreams when I put my self into it.
