Weekend Adventure: Assaulting Tarak Ridge x Typhoon Onyok

I had my first major climb last Dec 19-20 in  Tarak Ridge, Maraviles Bataan. It was very challenging because aside from the fact that it was my first major climb ( I had no idea we will be doing a major climb) the weather was also furious. Bagyong Onyok was all over Metro Manila and nearby provinces, and we were the only one who bravely hiked Tarak that day.

While they opted to buy PHP 100.00 worth of raincoat, we settled for garbage bags. hahahha

It was a long journey but it was so worth it. We trekked from 9am to 5pm under the rain (I although I am thankful for the rain kasi dahil dun hindi namin naubos ang water namin)

Nakapagreflect ako sa buhay ko at ang dami kong narealize dahil sa mahabang lakaran na iyon. Climbing mountains taught me to look back and reflect. It taught me to check on myself if I am still on the right track or what. It taught me perseverance and enjoying the journey to the summit.

Mabuti nalang tumigil na ang ulan nung gabi na kaya nakabonding din namin ang buong grupo kahit sandali. Sobrang nakakatakot nga lang kasi akala namin mapuputol ang mga puno sa sobrang lakas ng hangin.

The best ang Tropang Sabit! Ang sarap ng pagkain namin sa taas. 😂

Ang dami ko nga palang hugot that time habang paakyat akala ko din magpapaiwan nalang ako hahaha. Pero kinaya ko. KINAYA KO BES!

Sa 2016 dapat maakyat akong mga atleast 6 mountains. In Gods will and if my schedule permits. Hahaha.

We don’t conquer mountains, we conquer ourselves.
